2 Shootings Involve 4-Year-Olds In 3 Days

You are so right NRA. There is no need for gun control. Guns dont kill people, people kill people. Too bad lethal weapons are so accessible.....to babies..

Segregated Prom: Wilcox County, GA. High School Students Set Up First Integrated Prom

Thank heavens I don't live in the south. Since this is not a school sponsored event (It IS PROM!!!) that means that parents and other community members are supporting this wonderful tradition. "That's right folks we have to let you go to school together but that doesn't mean those people will dance with ours" Its sad when teenagers are far more evolved than their parents. I would move out of state before I allowed my child attend a school still stuck in 1960.

Bobby Jindal's Rebranding Effort Hits Snag

Mr. Jindal, you can rebrand, rename, reallocate, or simply relocate but the objectives of your political party will always be the same. Reward and appease the wealthy, ignore the poor and elderly and claim that its the American way. The only way to change the Republican party is to disband it. All the creative rhetoric in the world can't change the simple fact that the policies of the Republican party are primarily geared towards the wealthy and affluent. The trickle down effect is a joke, has never and will never work and needs to be discarded to the myths of time. Do I agree completely with the Democratic party? Absolutely not, but I cannot agree with a party whose interests are dedicated to preserving the wealth, affluence, political and financial control of the 1% who benefit.

Rand Paul: Sandy Hook Shooting Could Have Been Prevented If Teachers Had Guns

Yup, arming every adult who can pass a background test at a SCHOOL is the solution to saving the lives of children from a psychopath. What is wrong with people? If everyone in that school was armed its far more likely that more people would have been shot. This is not the wild wild west. The average person is not a marksmen disguised as a teacher or a principal. Unfortunately the psychos with guns generally don't have licenses to carry them. Is there a problem with school shootings? YES. Are more guns and ammunition the solution? NO. Doesn't take a rocket scientist or a pamphlet from the NRA to figure it out.

Marco Rubio Joins Pledge To Filibuster Gun Legislation

Am I the only one that cannot figure out which rights Obama is trying to undermine? The article cites the Republican opposition but as usual the opposition seems based on "We dont like it". We may have elected Hope and Change but Congress, particularly the Republican side seems stuck on "Do and Suggest Nothing".

Conclave 2013: Pope Election Begins As Cardinals Head From Mass At St. Peter's Basilica To Sistine Chapel

I believe it is possible to respect ones faith and still have an opinion concerning the spectacle surrounding the conclave every minute of the day. Every news channel feels the need to cover at great legnth the election of a Pope while at the same time pointing out the disturbing trends within the Church. Am I the only one disturbed concerning the amount of attention, pomp and circumstance being given to the election of the "Holiest of Holiest" on this earth (the most humble presumably right?).For humility to be a key tenant of the Catholic Church the ceremonies, traditions and money being spent seems in direct contradiction to this pillar of "truth" within the faith. In addition as they have just recently (in comparison with church history) elected non Anglo Saxons to the rank of Cardinal, I wonder how the few African, American, and Latin American Cardinals feel when they are welcomed into a hall to pray and all the beautiful paintings, wall murals and other images considered sacred to the Church are all of blue eyed, fair skinned white men?
